NYX do some of the best lip products you can buy regardless of price. The new NYX Suede matte lipsticks have quickly become one of my favourite lipstick formulas I’ve tried. The pigmentation and colours are amazing too!

I’ve previously blogged about some of the other NYX lip products I love here and here. NYX liquid lipsticks are just brilliant for long wear and pigmentation, as well as comfort. In the winter months though I prefer lip products that feel moisturising on the lips and the NYX lipsticks definitely fit the bill.

NYX Suede Matte Lipstick Review

I’ve somehow accrued 5 of these lipsticks over a short period of time. My first purchase was Lolita, a muted brownish-red that feels very 90s grunge to me, which was probably why I was drawn to this. I’ve been wearing much more ‘nude’ tones lately (like this brilliant lipstick from Zara) so my next purchases were Free Spirit and Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe. Free Spirit is an interesting dark beige-peach while Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe is a burnt peach (I had this in my bag and forgot to photograph it).

Then I got bored of the ‘nudes’ and bought Sweet Tooth and finally Spicy. These are not in anyway muted Sweet Tooth is a bright mid-toned pink and Spicy is a gorgeous classic red with slight blue undertones.

I love every single one of NYX suede matte lipsticks and I will definitely be adding to my growing collection. As indicated by the name these mattes have a suede (more velvet) finish so if you’re not keen on the sometimes overly drying finish of some mattes but love the longevity and pigmentation you’ll love these.

The formula is pretty amazing; a light creamy texture with great pigmentation that gives full coverage with one layer. The shape of the bullet makes application easy but if you do like a lip liner there are suede matte lip liners to compliment them.

The colour selection is incredible too. 24 shades to suit everyone and some gorgeous statement colours too like blues and greens which would look stunning on darker skins. I am so impressed with these lipsticks (can you tell?) so if you’re looking for a small way to brighten up the short dark winter days a couple of these NYX suede matte lipsticks might just help.

 

 

Another amazing drugstore lipstick that is worth mentioning is L’Oreal Matte Addiction lipsticks. These little beauties are super pigmented and have a very comfortable soft matte formula that wears really well too.
