New Zara Beauty: Lipstick Review

the new matte lipstick from Zara

I *love* Zara. It is one of my absolute favourite shops on the high street. If you like trend-led accessible fashion Zara has you covered (literally) or if you prefer a minimalist style that you can wear season after season Zara has that covered too. I’m in the latter group. I like to be able to wear an outfit until it falls apart.

What I also like about Zara is that they have something called “Special Prices”.  Zara have selected some key trends and everyday styles and reduced the prices making fashion a little bit more accessible. I recently bought this Bucket Bag from the Special Prices range and it’s ace.

As you can see I’m a fan of Zara so when I found out they were launching their own beauty range I was pretty excited. Zara always do the most amazing makeup looks on their models. So it makes complete sense that they’d launch their own products too. It just seems to be lip products so far but there’s a good selection of colours there to start with. I opted for a muted terracotta nude shade with warm brown undertones. And I am in LOVE!

Zara ultimatte lipstick in UM03

Zara Ultimatte lipsticks come in a good selection of shades from nudes all the way through to brights and vampy reds. My shade name is UM03 and it might be my perfect ‘nude’ shade. Zara’s Ultimatte lipsticks are described as a velvet-matte which I think is spot on. This matte lipstick is incredibly comfortable to wear, nothing like MAC’s mattes for example. My ultimatte lipstick is easy to apply straight from the bullet, it doesn’t pull the lips thanks to the bullet being enriched with vitamin E. One swipe gives full, opaque coverage that is really long wearing. The formula isn’t at all drying and gives a semi-matte finish.

I really am in love with this lipstick. It looks good in minimal dark  packaging with Zara discreetly embossed on the side. The packaging clicks nicely together with magnets protecting the bullet inside. The packaging also feels quite weighty too which really adds to the lipstick feeling much ore luxurious than the £10 price tag. I will definitely be buying more of these lipsticks and also the liquid lipstick too (I’m just about to buy this one, in fact). If you love lip products I really think you should try the Zara lipsticks. Easily one of my favourite matte formulas I’ve tried.

Have you tried any of the new Zara lipsticks yet?
