Firstly, I realise that this was part of Aldi’s Special Buy so you probably can’t get it at the moment BUT I am positive Aldi will have the Caviar range back in. The cream sold out in minutes in my local Aldi and there were queues for it opening. Aldi would be mad to miss another opportunity to sell this, hopefully this time round with more products on sale. The products are very similar in ingredients to the much much (like £200) more expensive La Prairie products. The product I got cost £7.99! so you can see why they flew off the shelves. And typically, lots have ended up on Ebay (where you can purchase some if you fancy it here).
I have been using Lacura Caviar Illumination 7 Days Intensive Treatment for a week now and I’m definitely seeing results, which is nice because I wasn’t really expecting much. I’m cynical in general about “anti-ageing” products so my scepticism isn’t limited to this product.
“The Caviar Illumination 7 day Intensive Treatment (£7.99) is a highly concentrated skincare regime for day and night. Suitable for all skin types, the treatment offers an ideal solution when skin has been put under additional stress and extra care is needed. Containing a dual-effect complex consisting of an antiageing peptide and heart-leaved globe daisy, this intensive treatment protects and stimulates the skin’s own defence system. Ethically tested results have shown that the day care increases skin hydration by up to 60% and the night care increases skin hydration by up to 68% and has a 24 hours moisturisation effect.”
The product comes in little ampules. It’s a clear, serum-like formula that does feel slightly sticky on application but thankfully when the skin drinks it up there’s no tackiness left. There’s actually quite a lot of product in one ampule and I found about 1/3 of it actually does for both morning and night application which leaves much more than a weeks worth. Those with drier skins might feel they need more product though. I have sensitive skin which is prone to get spots in reaction to skin care. I had one almost erupting with this but it settled down pretty quickly, other than that I’ve experienced no adverse effects with this.
So, do this actually work? The claims are that the heart-leaved globe daisy (isn’t that a pretty name?) protects the skin while stimulating the skin’s defence system. This is supposed to leave the skin smoother and refreshed. This, and other, anti-ageing ingredients such as caviar and B5 are said to help even out skin tone, deeply moisturise to help fill out wrinkles, revitalise skin day and night, and to give an overall youthful and radiant appearance. Pretty bold claims. What I’ve found after use is that my skin feels much more hydrated, it feels smoother and firmer. There’s a slight change in skin tone evenness but I think only I’d notice the small difference. I have ‘laughter lines’ around my eyes which I haven’t noticed any effects on. Despite this I really like this. There’s a noticeable difference in my skin’s hydration and just looks and feels that bit better. Overall, I’m really pleased with this. Hopefully I’ll be able to pick some more up from this range in the near future.
Did anyone get anything from this range?
