Aura-Soma Pegasus parfum* is new to me. Their ethos is really interesting as are their scents. The scents are designed to enhance the mood of the wearer. Our sense of smell is incredibly evocative and play a vital role in our memories and also our wellbeing. Aura-Soma utilise this in making their perfumes. Read on for a review of Aura Soma Parfum.

 

One of the things that make Aura-Soma so different from mass market perfume is that they use traditional methods for creating their unique perfumes.

Before the onset of modern production methods which use synthetic materials, perfume was made with wholly natural ingredients. Aura-Soma have embraced the natural method which I think gives them a really interesting and complex smell. These pefumes are notably different from something you’d typically buy in Boots.

There is a distinct difference between these naturally derived perfumes that Aura Soma make and their synthetic counterparts. This is one of the many reasons Aura Soma is so unique.

I have samples of all Aura Soma perfumes. The scents are individually numbered rather than given names. The full-size bottles are coloured to compliment the fragrance inside. Which I think is a really nice touch. You can see how the colours match the fragrance on the Aura Soma site here.

 

 

The Eight Aura Soma Fragrances

 

I think everyone will be able to find at least one scent they’ll like. My favourites are Parfum 30, Parfum 44, and Parfum 80.

Parfum 30 has notes of Bergamot, Olibanum, Oudh, Jasmine, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Amber, Vanilla, Saffron, Vetiver, Musk. It’s actually quite a unisex fragrance, it has a deep woody smell yet has a lovely softness to it. It’s really interesting. One spray is all that’s needed and it lasts all day long. On me it gradually gets muskier and softer.

Parfum 44 has notes of Orris, Cedar Wood, Violet, Precious Woods. It’s like a mix of parma violets with woody base notes. Another interesting and long-lasting perfume.

If you love bergamot scents like me you’ll love this beautiful scent from La Labo, it’s their Bergamote 22. It’s one of my absolute favourite scents, I love it.

 

 

 

 

Parfum 80 has notes of Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Lily, Carnation, Cinnamon, Benzoin, Rose, Vanilla. It’s such a pretty, fresh summery perfume. It’s sweet and flowery but definitely not sickly. All the notes work beautifully together. A perfect Summer scent.

More Unique Fragrances to Try

 

Aura-Soma use organic essential plant and flower oils and are free from petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances and preservatives. The production method and ethos, for me, make them stand out against many perfumes we’ve become used to. And if you’re a perfume connoisseur you’ll definitely want to add them to your fragrance collection.
