My life can be roughly split into before facial sprays/ and after facial sprays. I might be slightly exaggerating for effect but you get my point: I cannot imagine not having a facial spray in my life now (again, I might slightly be exaggerating). They’re just lovely little spritzes of delight.

I use facial sprays for several different reasons. Some facial sprays make excellent setting sprays for makeup, a facial spray can add hydration throughout the day and it can also just refresh and awaken you if you’re slumbering along. Some of my favourites comes from Mario Badescu. I’ve used the Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater Spray for years. And I’ve recently been using Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea too but I was coming to the end of it so decided to buy the bargain set of three which includes the previous two mentioned plus Aloe, Camomile and Lavender Facial Spray which you can pick up from Beauty Bay for £17.

I love Rosewater spray, it stirs childhood memories of my gran. She used to keep rosewater in her bathroom and I loved sneaking a smell, so rosewater is an especially comforting fragrance for me. The Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater Spray is also very hydrating making it perfect to take on your summer holidays or using in the winter months in an overheated office. The rosewater isn’t overpowering, it’s a gentle scent that’s refreshing and crisp.

Rosewater is anti-inflammatory which can help soothe irritated skin and calm redness. It also makes a nice toner after cleansing, helping to reduce the look of pores and evening skin tone. This facial spray is full of ingredients that have benefits for the skin such as Fucus Vesiculosus Extract. Apparently this is a seaweed extract and has been found in studies to improve the skin’s quality as we age. Mario Badescu Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater Spray is just an excellent all-round facial spray, a firm favourite in my skin care routine. Similarly, the Mario Badescu Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea is refreshing and is especially good for a pick-me-up throughout the day. I think this smells more like Jasmine Green Tea which is one of my most favourite things in the world. It has cooling cucumber and mint included in the ingredients. Mint has anti-bacterial properties making the spray a good toner too especially if you’re having trouble with acne. Like the rosewater spray this is a great all-rounder and is probably my favourite out of the three currently (although this changes depending on mood).

And finally in the trio is Mario Badescu Aloe, Camomile and Lavender. Like the other Mario Badescu sprays the Aloe, Camomile and Lavender contains a whole host of skin-loving ingredients. Lavender is known for its relaxing qualities so I like to use this at night and mixed with camomile makes it a sleepy little spray. Not only are these two ingredients made for relaxation but both together are great for soothing eczema. Chamomile is especially good for gently calming irritated, sensitive skin. If you don’t like the scent of lavender this isn’t going to be the spray for you.
