The Amazing £5 Dupe for Estee Lauder Double Wear

flatlay with neutral, natural tones with wooden irror and dry grass

I have been trying to get hold of Primark’s My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation for absolutely ages. It’s been getting lots of attention from YouTubers and beauty editors because it’s supposed to be a dupe for the much more pricey Estee Lauder Double Wear, which is my most repurchased foundation.

Estee Lauder Double Wear currently retails at £33 (!) so you can see why I’d be interested in a dupe for a fiver. There’s lots of similarities between the two foundations but can Primark’s £5 foundation actually be as good as Estee Lauder Double Wear, my favourite long wear foundation? Let’s see!

Primark My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation comes in a very nice looking glass bottle similar to Estee Lauder’s foundation. Primark’s foundation bottle is slightly smaller than Estee Lauder’s but it actually has more product – 32ml compared to 30ml. Primark’s foundation also has a higher SPF of 15 while Estee Lauder’s is only 10 SPF. So far Primark’s foundation is winning for me!

I *think* Primark My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation comes in a good range of colours but I’m unsure if I’ve ever saw the full colour range, it just sells out so fast! But, I have seen very light shades (I think the lightest is Porcelain) and also very dark shades. It really is just your luck what’s in stock. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the lightest shade so I picked up Cool Sand which I can just about get away with but come Winter I most definitely will not.

Primark describe their formula as double coverage (*raises eyebrow* sounds familiar!), matte finish and oil-free. This is pretty much the same as Estee Lauder Double Wear. I would say Primark’s foundation isn’t quite as pigmented as Double Wear but I think Primark’s offering actually applies nicer and is easily layered if you want. This gives a good medium-buildable coverage that doesn’t settle in pores or fine lines.

Primark’s foundation wears really well throughout the day, I’d say much the same as Estee Lauder Double Wear. Absolutely no other long-wear foundation I’ve tried has ever performed as well on my skin as Estee Lauder’s. I have an oily t-zone and most foundations are defeated by it. So I am super impressed with Primark My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation formula. Oh and something else I love about it is that it doesn’t look drying, which sometimes Estee Lauder Double Wear can. It is described as matte but it looks really natural and fresh.

Primark My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation really has excelled my expectations. It applies beautifully, lasts all day, looks natural and healthy, and only costs a fraction of Estee Lauder’s Double Wear. And, rather wonderfully, Primark My Perfect Colour Longwear Ultimate Matte Foundation is a brilliant cruelty-free dupe for Estee lauder Double Wear. The next time I’m in Primark I am most definitely stocking up!

I bought it recently and I’ve never before had a foundation I liked but I love this!! Had to wait a year to get it in the right colour though 😂

I preferred primark’s over the Estée Lauder because Estée Lauder seems to look cakey on my skin 🙁

Longwear ultimate Matt foundation from Primark is amazing. I haven’t been able to get it for ages. Has it been discontinued? They’ve brought out one with a black dropper on top which I hoped was the same but it’s not. The square bottle foundation needs to be brought back please.

I’ve just had a look at the primark site and they released a couple of colours yesterday. I don’t think they have a permanent collection rather it is released in drips, so if you do find your colour I would stock up! x
