Here’s another instalment in my very sporadic series “Sunday Treats”. I have a really amazing product from I Heart Revolution, one of the sister brands of Makeup Revolution (I’ve previously reviewed some products here). I’ve bought quite a few products from Makeup Revolution lately so I’m planning on doing a brand overview soon. Not only are Makeup Revolution and the sister brands cruelty-free and often vegan their prices are also unbelievably good.
Take for example this I Heart Revolution Surprise Egg. It retails at a whopping £5! And Superdrug have a 3 for 2 offer on so that’s even more of a bargain. The eggs come in 4 colours: Unicorn (shades of purple, pink, blue), Dragon (shades of red, gold, brown), Rose Gold (er rose gold shades), and the one I have Gold which has gorgeous shades of brown and golds. All the eggs have five eyeshadows and two highlighters.
I am SO impressed with the quality of these eyeshadows. There’s two shimmer shades, a gorgeous rich brown and a luminous oyster shade. They’re not powdery in the slightest, instead they’re really buttery making them easy to apply and blend. The other three shades; a dark brown, medium brown and light brown are all matte. On looking at them I thought they were going to be really powdery with a lot of drop-off when applying but boy was I wrong. These are also really buttery and applies smoothy with no creasing. All the shades in my I Heart Revolution Surprise Easter Egg are really pigmented. If I had to compare them to another eyeshadow I think they are most similar to Zoeva (who I actually prefer over Urban Decay).I honestly can’t get over how beautiful this is and an absolute bargain.
You also get two highlighters in I Heart Revolution Surprise Egg. In the Gold egg you get, wait for it, gold! and also a beautiful bronze shade. On my pale skin the gold is slightly too much but would look gorgeous on darker skins. The bronze is more wearable on me and gives a lovely sun-kissed look. Both shades are more sheen than glitter and can be blended out to give a softer finish. Again, the highlighters are soft and buttery, and very pigmented.
As you can most probably tell I’m very impressed with this. The packaging is clearly gimmicky but actually really pretty and the products inside are great. And all for a fiver, you can pick up your I Heart Revolution Surprise Egg here.
Have you seen any other Easter makeup you like the look of?
