NYX is by far one of my most favourite makeup brands regardless of price. Some of my favourite beauty products are from NYX including their Soft Matte Lip Cream, Micro Brow Pencil, and their Dark Circle Concealer which I blogged about here.
There’s an amazing NYX counter at The Glasgow Fort in Boots which I often peruse. Talking of Boots at The Fort, the Dior counter is amazing too. If you’re dubious about going near a counter because of past experience and are in the area I really recommend them. I dunno if all Dior counters are like that (do let me know either way) but the one in Boots is really good.
Anyway, as some of you may know I’ve been using Pinterest quite a lot recently (you can read my post about using Pinterest for your blog or business here) and I’ve been pinning some pretty nice makeup looks here if you fancy a look. Something that kept turning up was gold eyeliner and what’s more festive than a gold eye at this time of year? That’s why I found myself at the NYX counter, but after swatching NYX Slide on Eye Pencil I bought a few (the full name is, deep breath : NYX Slide on, Stay On, & Definitely Turn On Waterproof Extreme Shine Eye Liner, here). I have Glitzy Gold- a stunning metallic gold with a beautiful sheen that is soft yet lasts for absolutely ages. I also got Jewel a multidimensional shade with tones of taupe, plum, pink and gold (?). If I didn’t know Jewel was only just over £5 I’d swear it was high end. Finally is Gun Metal, a gorgeous grey toned glitter with hints of silver through it. The quality of every single one of these pencils are amazing. Much better than the Urban Decay equivalent and at a fraction of a price. The pencils are soft, easy to apply, have incredible pigmentation and wear really well throughout the day. Eyeliner rarely stays on me but this lasts all day. There’s an amazing selection of shades available too, have a look here.
While I was looking I also spied NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tint. These are incredible eyeshadows, I have two shades: Nude to Me and Evening Spell. Nude to Me is a pretty rose gold/oyster shade and Evening Spell is a rich burgundy/ cranberry metallic shade. I am SO please I picked these up. I love the packaging which is similar to their Lingerie Lip Liquid Lip. The doe foot applicator makes this eyeshadow super easy to apply and also handy to pop in your bag, so if you want to add a bit of drama for an evening out it’s really convenient to do. Both colours I have last all day and don’t crease either. While Lid Lingerie is supposed to add a wash of colour I find them really easy to build, just let the first layer dry first then add the next. The pigmentation is amazing so it’s a shame to just wear them as a wash.NYX Lid Lingerie also make amazing eyeliners when applied with an eyeliner brush. I’ll definitely be picking moreNYX Lid Lingerie up, you can read more about them here.
Have you tried any of these NYX products?
