I’ve seen lots of love recently for Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils. Moany Mouse featured them as her Go- To Product of the year ( you can read about it here). Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils seem to be a more affordable option than the much more pricey Nars lip pencils so I was very intrigued to try them.

Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils come in a good selection of colours suited to most skin tones and preferences. They’re available from light pinks to more dusky tone pink through to purples/plum and the two reds I picked up. Light It Up is a neutral (on me) bright red. It’s a gorgeous true red that doesn’t lean too cool or too warm on my pale skin with pink undertones. I also picked up the darker burgundy/red Red Essential which is apparently a good dupe for the popular Nars Cruella lip crayon. This is a proper vampy red that is still very wearable. I absolutely love both colours. They’re both really pigmented and opaque. One application is all that’s needed for full colour but if you wanted a more of a tint you could easily dab them down for a just bitten effect.

In both Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils the formula is brilliant. Creamy and longlasting without being overly drying or smudging. The pencil means it works as a great lip liner so application is really precise. The only downside is when sharpening them you’ll lose a good bit of product.

I took advantage of Boots 3 for 2 offer and I also picked up Color Tattoo in Creme de Rose. This is such a good matte eyeshadow, definitely a staple for me now. It acts as a brilliant base covering pigmentation and veins on the eyelids (I’m not sure if they do darker colours, sorry!), it works great on it’s own too with a bold lip colour or an eyeliner but it actually works really well with the other color tattoo I have in Metallic Pomegranate. Because Creme de Rose has a slight pink in it it looks great with the dark rusty red and gold of Metallic Pomegranate.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate is a beautiful eyeshadow and again a brilliant long lasting, gel-cream formula. It is perfect for the winter months and goes really well with my brown eyes. The Maybelline Color Tattoos are so easy to apply. I usually just use my finger but Metallic Pomegranate also makes a great eyeliner. When these eyeshadows are on they don’t budge. You have a bit of time to blend them out but once they’re set that’s it, they won’t smudge or crease throughout the day. Without doubt one of my favourite eyeshadow formulas in any budget. I’m going to be adding lots more to my collection.
