Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise

left- Bourjois, Right- Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm in Rendezvous

Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon is the latest offering on the burgeoning lip crayon market. I like lip crayons for their convenience, colour and instant moisturisation. I have Bourjois Lip Color Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise and this does a good job at all of these.

Red Sunrise is a fresh red-pink that really reminds me of the darker colour in a Tequila Sunrise, I think that makes it the perfect summer colour. There is a slightly fruity smell to this lip crayon, but nothing like Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm which has an artificial mint smell. I don’t think Bourjois’ lip crayon is as good as Revlon’s. Both give good colour, a semi-opaque pigmentation that can easily be built up. Revlon’s lasts much longer on my lips though. Bourjois does that weird thing where you’re left with colour around the outer lips but nothing central, wtf.

Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise does feel nice on the lips and definitely gives lasting moisture. It’s a shame the colour doesn’t last brilliantly on the lips.

I got mine from ASOS for £7.99, it’s also available from Boots etc.

Have you tried it? What do you make of it?

I'm glad I didn't buy this now! I was seriously considering it yesterday but a swatch I tried on my hand wiped off easily with no colour left a couple of minutes later so I did wonder how well it would stay on lips!

it's a shame about the longevity but I have been using it loads as a moisturiser! x

Thanks for this – I'm looking for a lip crayon so will bear your comments in mind. Shame as it's such a cute colour.

yeah, I do love the colour. Despite the longevity issues I am actually using this quite a lot.
